Reality Rundown: What the 'Ell is America Thinking?

So You Think You Can Dance - This week is all about celebrating SYTYCD's 100th episode, so they get dancing expert Ellen Degeneres to guest judge along with Mia. Ok, so Ellen knows zip about dance, but she's hilarious, comparing dancing to wine and making a lot of carpentry/nailing jokes. Evan/Janette are paired together and unfortuantely, Janette is amazing as always, but Evan is meh. Nigel finally brings up Evan's droopy eyes, which is hilarious. Brandon/Jeanine have a slow waltz that's too slow for the judges, but then an insanely awesome pop jazz number by 1st time SYTYCD choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson, who I know from the Diddy shows. Kayla/Jason are great in both numbers, especially a zombie hip hop by Shane. Melissa/Ade are re-paired and at first, I thought they were in trouble; their samba was pretty bad, but their second number is phenomenal. Tyce Diorio created a contemporary piece about a woman battling breast cancer, and I will admit it made me cry. Emotional story, amazing dance, moving song- you can't help it! It was hands down one of the best pieces ever done on the show. I can't even predict who will go home for the women, but I think it's got to be the end of the road for Evan sadly. (Image from BuddyTV)

100th episode! Let's recap the fun stuff before the bottom 4 that blew my mind. The show opens with a Mia Michaels routine to "One" from A Chorus Line and right off the bat, I'm sucked in because I'm such a Chorus Line fan. Thee 2 dances that previously won Emmys get to perform again (Hok/Jamie's (S3) Hummingbird and Flower, and Travis/Heidi (S2) Bench routine). The best number is the reuniting of the S2 top 8 along with choreographer Wade Robson to perform his piece Ramalama. But the biggest of them all: Katie Holmes "dances." Yes, while a bunch of guys do tons of choreographer, she stands there, bops around, and gets lifted. Hardly the impressive dancing they've been teasing all season. But the fun is tarnished when they announce the bottom 4. Janette and Kayla are the 2 girls, and I'm shocked; Janette is probably the top girl for me, and I blame short Evan for this. Speaking of Evan, he's safe. I KNOW. The bottom 2 guys: Jason and Brandon. Including Brandon in the bottom absolutely blew my mind, as I was saying to people that to me Brandon was the only person I would guarantee safety. America voted and the eliminated dancers are... Janette and Jason. NOOOO- not Janette! Nigel also admits Janette was his favorite to win and that America got it wrong. I guess I can't complain too much, as I don't vote, but America- you angered me tonight! At least Brandon is still in it. My 2 favorites for the win: Brandon and Jeanine. (Image from MSNBC.com)

Top Chef Masters - For the Quickfire, the chefs draw knives with a number of them; that number corresponds to an aisle at Whole Foods and their entire meal must be composed of items from that aisle (and only $20 to spend). Seafood chef Michael Cimarusti thinks he's screwed when he gets the baking aisle, but ends up getting 5 stars. For the elimination challenge, the chefs get to create a mystery box of ingredients for another chef, and then will create a dish with these ingredients. Instead of sabotaging each other, the camaraderie is amazing and they all want to make each other shine. I could talk about everyone, but let's go right to the winner. Art Smith, most known for cooking for Oprah, prays he'll get chicken... and he does. He makes a two delicious takes on fried chicken and wins this episode, even if the judges found it too close to his comfort zone. (Image from BravoTV.com)

Big Brother - Ronnie's double-agent duties catch up to him- finally! Laura and Ronnie talk in the HOH room and she accepts she's going home but does offer to be an ally for him and promises him safety. Ronnie then says he could easily persuade Natalie, Chima, Kevin, and Lydia to save her. Laura leaves the room, and Ronnie brings up the others and decides to throw this plan at them... but blame it all on Russell in case it backfires. Natalie tells this to Jessie, Jessie tells Russel, and then shizz goes down! Laura and Russell call out Ronnie for all his manipulation; the house has been so divided since day 1 because of Ronnie's lies. It's an awesome fight and trust me, it will get more coverage on this blog on Monday (I think you regular readers can get a hint of who is getting SERVED!) After all the drama, the house is more united, and Ronnie has locked himself away in the HOH room, forced to live off his HOH basket of candy and his tears. Of course, Russell isn't having it so whenever Ronnie leaves the room, he tortures him- good times! Natalie tells Julie Chen the house is united in their votes, then decides to stir up the pot and votes to evict Jordan, while the other 8 HGs vote out Laura. The HOH competition is to launch a ball into some cups and whoever gets the highest score wins. Jessie and Jeff both get 6, so they have a tiebreaker and I'm praying for Jeff to win- please, for us feed watchers, don't torture us. Frak... Jessie wins HOH, I'm livid, my fellow feed-watchers are livid, and the game continues to boringly pick off one side of the house one-by-one. Worst part: my pick to win, Casey, is a prime target for eviction. (Screencap from WickedTong at HamsterTime.com)

The Fashion Show - It's finally over! Well, not so fast- yes Bravo can't get it through their heads that no one liked this show and drags out the results over an hour long reunion. I can't believe I watched this series- so long, so dull towards the end. Good thing I barely watched any of the reunion! What I did see: they showed the decoy collections of Merlin and Johnny, that were designed so that the press couldn't leak the finalists (as if anyone gave a crap). Merlin's was horrible, I mean, god awful. Johnny's was cool I guess. America is PO'd Reco was eliminated and threatened to boycott the vote. Reco claims he's not bitter about being eliminated, but still rants about it. In the end, Anna wins with 56% of the vote. She gets $125,000 , her clothes will be sold on BravoTV.com, and no one will remember her since no one watched this show. Is it Project Runway time yet? (Image from BravoTV.com)

Reality Rundown: A Giant Rats Wins HOH

So You Think You Can Dance - Now that we're in the Top 10, the pairs rotate each week by a random drawing from a hat. Tall Kayla pulls tiny Evan, and have an "ehh" Viennese Waltz. Janette/Ade rock as a Funk Doctor helping a the hapless in a Nappytabs hip hop routine. SYTYCD Season 2 runner-up, Travis Wall, gets to choreograph for the first time and he gets 2 amazing contemporary dancers: Jeanine and Jason. Finally able to showcase their talents now that their former partners were eliminated, the piece was brilliant and hands down, my fave of the season. Unfortunately, after fantastic comes awful, and that is Randi/Kupono's paso doble. The dancing was almost as bad as the creepy wig Randi wore for dramatic effect. Ending the pairs were Brandon and Melissa with a Broadway number to "Aquarius" from Hair, and I loved this one too. Each contestant also performed a solo and a group routine. The 5 girls did dazzling Bollywood, while the boys were tasked with the extremely complex African. All did well, but clearly Evan stuck out as the White Shadow of the group. I don't know if they'll do bottom 2 or 3, but here's a bottom 2 prediction: Randi/Kupono and Kayla/Evan.

Results show! No Nigel tonight, he's receiving an honorary degree at some British University. Good for him, but onto the good stuff! Bottom 2 girls: Randi and Melissa. Melissa?! America, you are insane. Bottom 2 guys: Kupono and Ade. America, are you smoking dance crack? Melissa and Ade are 2 of the best dancers there! It has to be a personality thing, like they aren't as outgoing as the others. In the end, Randi and Kupono rightfully go home after the awful paso doble. Both are talented dancers, but sometimes the dance you pull can be the death of you. (Images from BuddyTV)

Top Chef Masters - For the Quickfire, the 4 chefs need to make fine cuisine out of junk food. The judges for this challenge are Jeff Lewis and the Flipping Out gang, so this makes me uber excited. I am a huge Flipping Out fan, so just to see insane Jeff ripping on people is worth it. One dude doesn't even finish he corndog dish in 45 minutes so gets a big ol' 0, but the winner is some dude named Michael Chiarello that looks so familiar. The elimination challenge is to create a 3 course meal for 100 guests- so 300 plates. Luckily, it's not a full meal but h'or doerves, and the 3 dishes must be based on the 3 components of a full meal: appetizer, entree, and dessert. Some Swedish dude wows the judges with his 1st 2 courses, but makes a nasty dessert. Familiar Michael Chiarello wins the whole episode for making delicious dishes and taking a risk (basil gelato? eww) (Image from BravoTV.com)

Big Brother - Elimination live show! Preggo Julie Chen looks good this week, and at last has learned body glitter is not her friend. As I've been watching the feeds, what originally started as a no way to save Braden week, becomes extremely close. Ronnie the Rat is playing both sides and will need to choose. They show an extremely edited down version of a fight between Braden, Lydia, and Kevin. Braden confronted Lydia about throwing him under the bus, but in the heat of anger, called Kevin a "beaner" (btw, Kevin is not Mexican). But race is something BB doesn't want to get in to and cuts it out. Well in the nominees final speech, Chima calls out Braden, pointing out what he called Kevin but also a time Braden called Julie Chen a whore and that anyone who votes for Braden supports a racist. The audience is baffled, Julie is probably pissed, and her husband Les Moonves runs CBS and must be furious. Ronnie ends up forcing the tie (5-5) and Jessie sends Braden out. The HOH competition is some lame, completely obvious trivia about the cliques and no one was smart enough to eliminate Ronnie early on and that rat-weasel wins HOH. Ronnie's such a moron and wants to be with the athletes. Ronnie, you're such a cliche. Everyone knows that in high school, athletes use the nerds to do their homework and their dirty work, but they're not your friends. (Original image from CBS.com)

The Fashion Show - Dear god, 2 weeks left. The final 4 return after an undisclosed amount of time with 10 outfits to present in a final fashion show. America will vote for the winner, but the catch is only 3 will be eligible; after the runway, the judges will eliminate one designer. Daniella makes an androgenous collection inspired by second skin, which is very fashion forward. Reco makes looks that impress audience guests from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but has a few decent looks. Anna makes a lot of excellent outfits, but not a cohesive collection. James-Paul pulls a Debbie Downer card and makes his collection based on indigenous countries wearing western fashion; it's very interesting, but no one would buy this shizz. In the end, Reco's collection is considered the weakest and he's out. Sadly for him, I think he would've won because no person watching is going to vote for the season's villain, the chick no one remembers, or the space cadet. (Image from BravoTV.com)

Reality Rundown: 1-800-Fan-Friggin'-Tastic

The Next Food Network Star - The aspiring FN stars' first task is to create a kid-friendly dish using nasty ingredients which include brussel sprouts, squid, and tofu. There's no winner selected, but Greek God Jeffrey seems to have been deemed best. And next, it's Rachael Ray talk show time! The chefs are paired up and they will do a live 5 minute cooking demo on The Rachael Ray Show. This is great for viewers, because we don't have to hear Rachael's raspy voice for 15 minutes. Melissa/Flamboyant Mike are shadows of themselves, but the food is good. Debbie/Katie do well as a team, but Katie's bulging eyes kill me. Jeffrey/Jameka are just off from the first second, and Jameka freezes in the demo, plus the food stinks. Jameka feels this has been a challenging week, letting her poor performance in the kid-friendly challenge get to her. But Katie did crummy in her 2 demos (one being extremely condescending) and her food always stinks. I think the saying is like 7 strikes and you're out, so Katie is finally sent away. Next week: Miami! (Image from FoodNetwork.com)

The Bachelorette - Jillian takes her beaus off to Spain for some fun, food, and fantasy suites! Or really, a bunch of rooms some poor production assistants spent hours lighting candles and finding roses for and then Jillian doesn't use them. That's right- 3 of the 4 dudes do not get to experience the Fantasy Suites. I think Jillian's decision makes sense, and it shows she's taking this love stuff seriously- but bummer for Fantasy Suites. However, Ed does get to use the Fantasy Suite with Jillian, but they use the time together to catch up on all the time lost when he left. To sum up the other dates: Kiptyn gets to fandango or something like that and is a snooze, and Reid gets a picnic and a lot of PDA. And of course there's Wes. The date lacks any PDA (shocking!), and at dinner Wes fesses up that is it was his manager's idea for him to do the show, and confesses the girlfriend thing. At the Rose Ceremony, Jillian is finally not a moron and gets rid of Wes, who then gives a great post-elimination limo ride. In the limo, Wes gets pretty trashed and brags about being the 1st guy to get to the final 4 with a girlfriend, make fun of the other guys, and spill booze on himself. Now, before I was all for Ed to be the winner, but I'm starting to love Reid. Reid for the win! (Image from BuddyTV)

So You Think You Can Dance
-It's one of the most important nights yet: it's the last round before the Top 10, plus each pair will do 2 routines. Getting into the Top 10 is crucial because 1. America is the sole decision maker going forward and 2. the dancers get to go on tour. Who is definitely making that tour? Brandon/Janette who were flawless with an Argentinian Tango and Wade Robson jazz piece. They were so good, I kid you not, my puppy stopped playing with his chew toy and stared at the screen. And to confirm it was because of the dance, I rewound twice and he stated everytime. If Schroeder likes it, it's good. Melissa/Ade also are sho-ins, but I thought their disco was only OK (judges loved it). Evan/Randi were better in their hip hop than their samba, but are both likable dancers. While Kayla/Kupono did well in their contemporary number, I still think they'll be in the bottom. Face it- America doesn't dig this pairing (I'm leaning towards the America dislikes Kayla theory). Also likely to be on America's shizz-list: Caitlin/Jason. They have zero chemistry=- watching them is so dull, and I think the viewers don't care much for Caitlin either. Philip/Jeanine did well with an easy Russian Folk routine followed by a Jive, but I feel he's holding her back. But here's the other fun part about Top 10: the partners rotate! So next week, I think Jeanine will be able to shine much more. Bottom 3 prediction: Philip/Jeanine, Caitlin/Jason, Kayla/Kupono. (Image from BuddyTV)

Results show! The bottom 3 end up being Philip/Jeanine, Caitlin/Jason, and Melissa/Ade. WHAAAAAAT? I'm pretty shocked Kayla/Kupono made the cut because I thought personality might matter more. Nigel takes time to explain how eliminations work and really it's not "Who should go home", rather "Who do we want to keep here longer?" It's pretty clear Caitlin is going home, even before dancing for their lives. But who of the boys will leave? While Philip is amazing at his own style, picking up the other genres isn't as easy for him so he is eliminated, leaving with an inspiring speech about following your dreams. But good news: Caitlin and Philip will both get to go on tour, so it will be Top 12 rather than 10 to pay $50 to see live. (Images from MSNBC)

Top Chef Masters
- Have to admit: I don't love Masters as much as the real Top Chef; in fact, I dozed off for 15 minutes in the middle and had to rewind. But I shall still watch for you readers! For the Quickfire, the chefs have to showcase their egg cooking talent with one arm behind their back. NYC chef Anita Lo wins the Quickfire with 5 stars, while John Besh and his raw egg from Louisiana sets a new low with 1/2 star- ouch. For the elimination challenge, they cook for Neil Patrick Harris (!!) and his magician friends at the Magic Castle; and yes, Ed Alonzo aka Max from Saved by the Bell is present. Each chef is assigned a magical term to theme their dish around. Mark Peel of LA gets "Mystery" so uses a French technique that cooks the dish in paper bags or something- it's tres cool. Josh Besh has "Surprise" so makes sorbet at the table like a magic trick. Anita Lo was given "Illusion" so she makes her plate look like a beach, and hides a steak tartare in something that looks like a scallop. And the guy who got "Spectacle" makes a hot mess of a dish. Mark Peel takes the early lead, despite a poor Quickfire performance, but Anita Lo's dish captivated the diners and she wins the episode. I end the episode still thinking John Besh looks like the long-lost father of Beans Aranguren. (Images from Super Chef Blog and The Oregon Herald: The Real Deal)

New! Big Brother - 12 new houseguests enter what is a Goin' Green themed house. Most rooms are pretty sleek, but one room is a doozy: it looks like an indoor pool, including a slide and the beds have inflatable rafts on them. As long as there are sheets, I'd want that room- it would be memorable! The case is a lot more diverse (read: kind homelier) than usual. Why? Because they are being split into 4 cliques, ala high school: Populars, Athletes, Braniacs, and Offbeats. Personality wise, I think the Offbeats are my favorite (and my pick to win, Casey, is in that clique)... until a twist occurs. There will be 13 houseguests this season, and what ever clique wins the first competition will get this new player added to their clique and this newbie will the the Head of Household (HOH). Turns out, the 13th houseguest is someone who has played before and fits into the clique. And when they reveal who could re-enter the game, I crap myself in fear. Cowboy (BB5), one of the most annoying houseguests in history, is the Offbeat representative. I pray the Offbeats lose. I am routing for the Braniacs or Populars, because they have Brian (BB10) and Jessica (BB8) who I didn't mind before. Bodybuilder/idiot Jessie (BB10) is playing for the Athletes. Now the competition: the houseguests (HGs) will be suspended in the air holding onto a toilet seat, while receiving massive wedgies. Good times! After mucho suspense, the Athletes win and Jessie gets another shot at Big Brother. I don't love Jessie, but anything beats Cowboy. (Image from CBS.com)

The Fashion Show - 5 are left- has this show been on forever? First challenge has the contestants showcasing their draping skills and Daniella wins again. For a young designer fresh out of school, she's really impressive. Elimination challenge: design a red carpet dress utilizing Swarovski crystals. They each get help in the form of a previously eliminated designer and they all seem so shocked by this. Have any of them watched a reality show before? The losers always return to help. Daniella takes a risk by using a smoky gray fabric, while Anna tries to use a bold floral print. James Paul plays it safe, but really, it looks so old and dated. Johnny, who just seems better than everything in fashion, is so not into red carpet but gets "inspired" by a dress Maggie Gyllenhal wore once... so inspired that it's 99% the exact same dress. The judges have to decide which is a greater crime: a hideous dress or plagiarizing. Luckily, Johnny is sent home for being a copycat (and by the way, this isn't the first time they've questioned if his designs looked too similar to the original). Next week: FINALLY! I mean, finale. Reality Rundown: Looks like Jillian is not Jesse's Girl

The Next Food Network Star - The wannabe stars first make delicious burgers, except for healthnut Katie who makes a raw turkey burger. The winner is Michael, with a mouth-watering burger stuffed with mozzarella, with prosciutto on both sides of the burger, and in a garlic bread bun. For the elimination challenge, each contestant is given a basket with regional items and will cook a classic American meal for soldiers returning from the Middle East. Margaret Cho (Debbie) gets whacked in the face with a pan, the Greek god makes a horrible seafood pot pie and has no personality, and Melissa is "en fuego" this week with her New Mexico inspired steak tostado (plus a great presentation to the crowd). Teddy is still a fake annoyance that can kinda cook, but is finally told he can't be a star (something we've all known since maybe episode 2). (Image from FoodNetwork.com)

The Bachelorette - Hometown dates! I thought Kiptyn's uber-rich family would be awkward to be around, Breakdancing Michael's was awesome and he has a twin. Jesse had a cynical brother, Reid's was probably the most natural and normal... and Wes had his band (OK, his family after, but c'mon, he featured his freakin' band). But before Jillian can meet Wes' family, perfect Jake the pilot returns to tell her the truth: Wes has a girlfriend named Laurel! Shocking, I know. So after crying and not knowing if she can trust him, I think it's obvious what will happen. That's right, she GIVES HIM A ROSE. Jeez Bachelorette producers, could you have scripted this even better? No, because it's all set up by you producers anyways! But in good guy news: ED RETURNS! Bet you didn't see that coming? Oh wait, yes we did. How convenient that Ed was able to "leave for work" and return to the show for a second chance. I don't recall any jilted suitors getting a 2nd change before. Sorry, but this seems like the most set up, contrived moment ever. You can tell Ed works in computers, cause he's a lousy actor. At the same time, I don't care cause early on I predicted an Ed/Kiptyn final 2. Because Ed returns, Jillian now has to cut 2 dudes instead of 1. She eliminates poor breakdancing Michael and Jesse (which surprised me, but he was sacrificed at the alter of Ed). And of course kept Wes, thus angering me even more. Next week: Spain and fantasty suites! Oh, and in the preview there's such a scripted dinner where Wes says to Jillian, "my girlfriend- I mean ex-girlfriend." Wow, this is so mind-boggling set-up that it's getting hard to watch. Can't wait to hear what Reality Steve has to say about this. (Hilarious image from BuddyTV)

So You Think You Can Dance - Wow! Best episode this season. The dancing this week was so great by all couples; even the one I liked least was at least danced well. Mia is the 3rd judge this week, so sorry no Mia routine! But we do get an amazing contemporary piece inspired by vampires with Kupono/Kayla, and it's crazy good. Janette/Brandon (my favorites) are unstoppable with another hot cha cha, and Brandon has finally won Mia's respect- tears by all! Philip lucks out this week and gets hip-hop, which I think saved him from elimination. Melissa, a ballerina, is given the Classical pas de deux and it's beautiful; she dances on point, which is a 1st for the show. But bad news: the shorties, Evan/Randi, do OK in Broadway but it's not a smash. Caitlin/Jason danced their jazz well, but Caitlin's alien costume was distracting. It was more disco stegasaurus than alien. Karla/Vitolio pull the quick step, which is the kiss of death on this show, but dance it pretty well. Unfortunately for them, I think the fans just don't like Karla much (in her intro solo, she got like no cheers). Bottom 3 prediction: Evan/Randi, Caitlin/Jason, Karla/Vitolio.

Results show! Vitolio/Karla are the 1st place in the bottom 3; score 1 for me. But suddenly, the other 2 pairs in the bottom baffle me: Kupono/Kayla and Philip/Jeanine. I for sure thought hip hop would be Philip's saving grace, and Kupono/Kayla were the best last night. I think Kayla rubs viewers the wrong way. So they all dance for their lives and it's pretty easy to guess that Vitolio and Karla are out this week. Both of them have been in the bottom 3 out of 4 times- it's time to go! (Images from BuddyTV)

The Fashion Show - What a snooze this week. In the lamest challenge, the designers get a tarot card reading and then have to design an outfit based on the card they pulled. Merlin and Johnny pull the same card and have completely different interpretations. By that I mean, Johnny makes something totally hot and Merlin makes the goofiest travel sweatsuit I've ever seen. It looked like bloomers under a yellow pea coat. James Paul also is a stinker, making a weird complex outfit even though he got a straightforward tarot card of keeping it simple. Anna wins the challenge with some cool dress, while Reco comes in 2nd with a snazzy pantsuit. Sadly, sass and zany interviews don't help keep you on this show, and the flamboyant Merlin is out of the door, which is pretty zany since his tarot card predicted he'd be going somewhere. I guess somewhere is home. (Image from BravoTV.com)

Reality Rundown: Throw Robbie from the Train

The Next Food Network Star - The chefs are given $60 to run amuck in a supermarket to prepare a dinner party for 12 people. Once their shopping is finished, the chefs are told the dinner party is being hosted by Ina freakin Garten, The Barefoot Contessa, who I hold in pretty high regard in terms of taste. But there's a catch! The chefs are working in pairs to create 3 courses: each will create 1 dish and collaborate on the 3rd. Melissa the Mom gets teamed with Manscaped Eddie and he's such a jerk to her, rolling his eyes when she's away, etc. He can't be bothered with other people, it's all about him. Margaret Cho is paired with Teddy, who everyone fears since he threw Melissa under the bus last week. They are a surprisingly good pair, with Margaret Cho Eddie's a douchebagtaking the appetizer, teaming on the meatloaf main dish, and Teddy is in charge of dessert. Except Teddy decides to focus on the meatloaf and the dessert is horrible. The Greek God and Flamboyant guy make a meal that looks so amazing it wins best of the week, even if Michael's personality was a bit off. The judges call out Manscaped Eddie for his kitchen behavior, with Bobby Flay telling him that "chivalry in the kitchen goes a long way." But here's the best part: the judges say his onion and watermelon salad wasn't good and takes a lot of finesse. He says he knows it's a good recipe because HE TOOK IT FROM PAULA DEEN'S COOKBOOK! I'd eliminate him on the spot for that. Teddy's dessert is deemed a complete and utter disaster, but he tries to save himself and claims the meatloaf was his dish, not the dessert. But the judges call him out, pointing out earlier he took claim for the dessert. Margaret Cho is livid that Teddy has pulled this shizz again. I get a good laugh that the bottom 2 are Teddy and Eddie- get it?! Manscaped Eddie goes home and I say, thank god, cause I never wanted a cooking show called "Dining with Doucebags." (Image from Food Network)

The Bachelorette - All aboard! Jillian and her men hop aboard a sweet train (no, not the Hogwarts Express or Terror Train- it's the Rocky Mountaineer!) for a trip across British Columbia and Alberta. 2 solo dates and 1 group date this week. Robbie is the 1st solo date and I mean, how couldn't 30 year old Jillian want to be with a 25 year old bartender who wouldn't answer the "do you want kids?" question. Well she doesn't, so the train Jillian and Reidstops and poor Robbie is kicked to the curb (and breakdancing Michael cries more than Jillian). His family's "always the bridesmaid, never the bride curse" continues. The group date is snowshoeing (yawn), which excites Tanner P who sees it as his chance to get near Jillian's feet. Also, Tanner comes clean about snitching a few weeks ago and the guys are OK, except Wes who gets all defensive. And then, Wes flat out says he's there for publicity and has gotten 6 weeks of exposure already. And then NO GUYS TELL THIS TO JILLIAN! Listen, I get Bro Code, but if you really like Jillian and have her best interest at heart, wouldn't you want to avoid her being made a fool of on national television? The 2nd solo date is with Reid, who is the blonde Chandler Bing to me, and he's a bit neurotic. He has a lot of qualms about the health hazards of fondue, but I'm liking this guy. While he is a total opposite of Jillian, I think it works. At the Rose Ceremony, Jillian is having second thoughts so pulls break-dancing Michael aside to discuss their age gap (he's only 25, but I love him- I hope he stays around). This talk is enough to save Michael, sending Tanner P and perfect Jake home. Next week: hometown dates where Jillian meets Wes'... band? AHHHH. Jillian, I truly hope this show is as scripted as Reality Steve says because if not, you are a moron and the most gullible person on reality TV. (Image from BuddyTV)

So You Think You Can Dance - I must confess: the past few weeks I've been a little angry with SYTYCD because Louis van Amstel had been the ballroom choreographer, and I thought my personal favorite French crazy, Jean Marc Generaux, was gone. Well he's back and as fantastic Evan and Randi's Contemporary Routine by Mia Michaelsas ever!! But enough about choregraphers, let's get to the dancing. After the first 2 numbers, I was really nervous about this week, thinking we'd get a lot of clunkers, but luckily Melissa and Ade's were 3rd and had one hot rumba. Other goodies: Brandon/Janette's hip-hop, newly paired Kayla/Kupono's Viennese waltz, and Randi/Evan's contemporary (by the one and only Mia Michaels). Now the stinkers. Every week the judges seem to like Caitlin/Jason, but I thought their paso doble was awful; with such intense music, the dancing should be equally intense. Karla/Jonathan did hip-hop and Jonathan stunk so badly, oh man it was painful to watch, which is a shame for Karla since she's part of hip-hop crew Boogie Bots. Bottom 3 prediction: Karla/Jonathan, Caitlin/Jason, and Asuka/Vitolio. (Image from BuddyTV)

Results show! Napoleon and Tabitha (hereby known as Nappytabs) choreograph the cool group number, but the show begins on a somber note. Nigel aknowledges the death of the 3 celebrities this week that impacted us, but none affected SYTYCD quite as much as Michael Jackson, who has inspired so many to dance. But let's think positive, and get to the good stuff: eliminations! My bottom 3 predictions are spot on! Pat on the back for mAsuka and Jonathan are eliminatede. But guessing the bottom 3 means nothing, as it's all about the solos. For the girls, it's unanimous; they eliminate Asuka who they don't see growing week to week. Her elimination does not sadden me. For the guys, Nigel says it was a 2-1 vote, which boggles my mind as I thought it was so obvious who to send home. Thankfully, Jonathan aka Archuletta is gone. Sorry, but even in his own style he wasn't very good and I still have no clue how he made Top 20. Other highlight: some dance crew of boys from like 6 to teens perform and toss the tiny kid across the stage. I watch this part in slo-mo 3 times. (Images from MSNBC)

Top Chef Masters - Quickfire! The 4 chefs draw knives that reveal a color; the task is to create a dish based on that color. This arrogant French dude Ludo goes crazy when his waiters fail to bring his red beet gazpacho out, but it only makes his plate look like a bloody crime scene. The Chef Michael BaylessQuickfire winner is Wilo Benet from Puerto Rico, who made an orange dish with salmon and some carrot stuff. For the elimination challenge the chefs will be making street food to serve at Universal Studios. Wow, cakewalk right? WRONG! Each contestant has a disgusting protein to base the meal on including tripe (stomach), heart, pig's ears, and tongue. French Ludo decides to make quesadillas with his pig's ears, except Mexican is not his specialty, so dumb move on his behalf. Not to mention, he's up against the top Mexican food chef in America, Rick Bayless, so even dumber. Bayless makes tacos with tongue, and it's a smash hit with the crowd and the judges With such outstanding scores on his tacos (2 judges gave him 5 stars), Bayless wins this episode and heads to the finals. The Fashion Show - This week is all about paying homage to the fashion greats, so each designer is assigned a designer to be inspired by. Oh and by "assigned" I mean, the winner of the Harper's Bazaar Mini Challenge, gets to call the shots; that winner is Anna, whose name I finally learned. She takes Chanel for herself and gives the good designers to her friends, Have gets eliminatedand then goes strategic/beotchy on Merlin, James Paul, and Reco, giving them designers they don't know. Johnny got Versace and it looked so Versace, but part of me thinks it's too Versace and not enough Johnny, but he wins anyways. Reco doesn't know Halston, and goes with his style of a flowy corset which is all wrong and looks Renaissance Fair; he is in the bottom and crying desperately. It's so sad! Haven is also in the bottom 2. She was given Yves St. Laurent, who is an everyday inspiration to her, and she went with his looks of sleek suits on women, except her sleek suit sucked. It was poorly constructed and used horrible colors. The judges have a tough decision and ultimately send home Haven because hey, she actually knew her designer and tanked. Reco lives to sew another day- phew! (Image from BravoTV.com)

Reality Rundown: 5 Minutes in Heaven with Isaac Mizrahi

The Next Food Network Star - The chefs get their first task this week: cook a meal for Esquire magazine featuring ingredients commonly found in a man's kitchen (like peanut butter, cornflakes, and of course meat). Eddie with the really manscaped eyebrows aces the challenge with a steak and a brussel sprout hash. The next challenge is at Good Housekeeping magazine. FN star Giada Delaurentis explains the challenge: create a dish inspired by a holiday, which Manscape Eddie gets to divvy out for winning earlier. He takes Valentine's Day and is pretty easy with giving out the rest. The Mom gets Mother's Day and makes a delicious dish, but has trouble with her time management and plating. Caribbean Queen (Jameka) makes a New Year's Tradition of collard greens and cornbread (cornbread is the moment I got up and snacked on some PB crackers to help my craving). The Healthy Girl stinks as usual, a Dave Coulier lookale makes a disconnected dish, and Manscaped Eddie has a really condescending and disingenous presentation. At judging panel, Healthy Katie seems a sho-in to go, but Dave Coulier tries to throw The Mom under the bus for the plating issue. My instincts are right: Coulier dug himself an early grave and is out. Good, didn't like him anyways! (Original image from Food Network)

The Bachelorette - I write about this episode with metaphorical tears, as my favorite leaves tonight. Let's start with the good: breakdancing Michael gets a solo date ziplining with Jillian and gets a rose. Wine maker Jesse gets the other date where they play in snow, hot tub, and the date has what seems to be 30 minutes screen-time, so I fast forwarded- sorry! But I like him more now. Wes continues to con his way into Jillian's heart, and Tanner still won't name names about who has a g/f. Now the bad part: Ed receives an ultimatum from his job: come back to work or get fired. Jillian gives him the group date rose to show where her heart lies, but Ed eventually decides that he can't let his coworkers down and leaves. I thought Ed was final 4, and in recent weeks, final 2 material- so I'm bummed. Clearly, Jillian had high hopes in Ed and is devastated he didn't take the risk on love. But in Ed's defense, it's not like there are 2 or 3 guys left- she's got about 9 dudes in her dating pond and it's a long way to go til the end. At the Rose Ceremony, Mark (who?) goes home and Wes is left to torture us viewers. Coming this season: Wes flat out admits to the guys he's there for publicity, but judging by the preview he makes it all the way to the Fantasy Suites (usually for final 4 or 3), and Jillian and one mystery guy encounter problems in the boudoir, and Italy! But, it also looks like Jesse makes it to Italy- good sign. Go home Wes and stick that horrible country-twangin' guitar where the sun don't shine. (Original image from BuddyTV)

So You Think You Can Dance
- The return of Shane Sparks and Brian Freidman! These are 2 great choreographers that I've really missed- welcome back! Also: a new choreographer! A contemporary Canuck named Stacey Tookey. Onto the dance! My absolute favorite of the week was Brandon/Janette's disco, and if you know my opinions on disco as a genre on this show, you'll know this was huge. It was so fast, entertaining, and full of chemistry. Vitolio/Asuka has a beautiful waltz, Melissa/Ade had a great jazz piece, and Kayla/Max had a pop/jazz that earned a 2nd week in a row on the Hot Tamale Train. Onto the bad... basically everyone else; not impressed and picking my bottom 3 was hard cause there were a bunch of duds. Shane Sparks returned to choreograph 2 routines, and neither lived up to the hype. A jive routine fell flat and the judges again loved Karla/Jonathan "Archueletta" but I was not feeling it. My bottom 3 prediction: both hip hop routines (Caitlin/Jason, Kupono/Ashley) and Karla/Jonathan's contemporary. I think Philip Chbeeb and his partner (I forget her name- not good) could take Karla/Jonathan's spot, but I'm thinking his early popularity could save him this week. (Image from BuddyTV)

Results show! Mia Michaels choreographed a group routine I wasn't crazy about, some chick with the last name DeBarge lip syncs really poorly and is in no way like the real El DeBarge, and this Indian dancer rocks the show. Now the bottom 3: Caitlin/Jason, Kupono/Ashley, and Kayla/Max. WHAT?! Kayla/Max were fantastic last night- blasphery! This also means my EW.com prediction that Jonathan/Kayla would be eliminated is moot. After dancing for their lives, the judges are not unanimous in their decision. I predict Caitlin and Kupono out, but NO! It's Ashley and Maxim. Partner switch next week; now Kayla and Kupono dance together. Bummer for Maxim, but it's hard for ballroom guys to do solos. (Images from MSNBC)

Top Chef Masters - I recognize 2 chefs this week! Elizabeth Falkner is a Food Network Challenge regular for her pastry work- she's my pick to win. Molecular gastronomy poster-boy Wylie Dufresne, a frequent Top Chef judge, also is competing. There is also a young fat guy and a woman with no personality whatsoever. Quickfire! The chefs will create an amuse-bouche (which is like a one-bite meal kick-off) but only with items from a vending machine. How fun! Judging this challenge are 3 chefs from Top Chef Season 2, who had to do this exact same challenge. Boring lady Suzanne (Snooze-anne!) Tracht wins by making some classy onion rings made from Fritos and a salad. She never shows a bit of excitement at this win. Elimination Challenge, and man, do I love this one because it centers around my favorite show: LOST! Say Oceanic 815 crashed with 4 gourmet chefs on the plane- what would those chefs concoct on the island? They are given limited ingredients and access to Dharma pantry items and they will serve the critics, as well as the producers and writers of Lost. Wylie Dufresne wows them with his technique, Elizabeth doesn't have enough sauce, fat guy impresses with Dharma green beans, and boring lady makes this holiday feast that pleases the diners. Snooze-anne is victorious and is hands down the dullest I've ever seen a reality show winner. They should've played the Debbie Downer waaa-waaa after she won. (Image from BravoTV.com)

The Fashion Show - The designers work in pairs this week and of course the 2 biggest hotheads, Daniella and Reco, get paired up. After a Harper's Bazaar Mini Challenge to change Walk of Shame/Clubbing wear into work appropriate attire, the designers receive their runway challenge. They are working with a famous designer this week: it's Isaac Mizrahi! The pairs will get to look at his mood board of fabrics, designs, etc. and will need to create a look for his collection. The winners of the mini challenge, Johnny and Merlin, get 5 minutes ("in heaven, like the game" -Johnny) with Isaac to ask questions and see the collection so far, and this really pays off. Johnny/Merlin and Haven/lady-whose-name-I-forget are the best 2, and Johnny/Merlin are best in show. Daniella/Reco make some hideous high-waisted pants, per Daniella's insistence, and her failure makes Reco smile. But nothing is as horrible as James Paul/Lydia's fish-scale inspired dress and coat. Oh boy, it's so horrible to look at- there are no words for this hot mess. Lydia is eliminated to go sleep with the fishes, and Daniella lives to bitch another day. (Image from BuddyTV)

Reality Rundown: The Thunderdome of Reality Show Dating

In this Reality Rundown...

New! The Next Food Network Star - As an avid viewer of the Food Network, I get really invested in this show because it's someone who I will potentially watch and then ultimately botch their recipes when I try them out at home. 10 new hopefuls have been cast, vying to be the next Guy Fieri, and fit into the same personality and cooking molds they usually do (Caribbean, trained, cook at home). The judges for NFNS include Senior VP of Programming & Product Bob Tuschman (love that name), VP of Marketing & Brand Strategy Susie Fogelson, and Food Network star/acclaimed chef Bobby Flay. The first challenge splits the 10 into 2 teams and they will cater the Food Network's 16th anniversary party, with Food Network celebrity guests (and my nemesis, Nancy O'Dell of Access Hollywood). I love their voting panels because they are so honest about personality, food, etc. Contestants whose personalities/food stood out: stay-at-home mom, Margaret Cho looklike, Caribbean-American queen, flamboyant guy, and a "Greek God" as someone named him. Barbie Girl (who calls herself the new generation housewife) goes home for a really simple green bean dish that even a 4 year old could make. Who will be the star? I don't know, but they better cook some good grub (like my Neelys!). (Image from FoodNetwork.com)

The Bachelorette - The men pack up for the Canadian hometown of Jillian: Vancouver. While there, Jillian will go on a solo date, a group date, and a 2-on-1 date. My personal favorite Bachelorette twist, the 2-on-1 date means 2 guys go on a date, but only 1 gets a rose. It's like Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, but for roses. Jillian has a solo date with Kiptyn, who I really like but has a stupid name. The group date guys go full on Canuck and go curling (winning team gets a date on a boat with Jillian). Jesse wins and scores a kiss, Jake is too perfect, and a hopefully drunk crazy Dave gets dissed. He's foul mouthed and rude, then goes for a kiss and is denied- SERVED! He then says she's kissed every guy there so why can't he get a kiss? Ahh, kinda SERVED Jillian. She says they weren't all real kisses, but I call BS. She may have stage kissed a bunch, but she has legit kissed at least 7 guys. The 2-on-1 date is with Mike and Mark or as I called them, "Who?" Everyone is surprised when Mark gets the rose. At the cocktail party, everyone is tired of Wes's shizz, so they call him out without explicitly saying "Wes", telling Jillian "not everyone is here for the right reasons." But she's so GD dense. If someone is on a television dating show and might not there for the right reasons, wouldn't one automatically guess the guy who dreams of being a star musician and needs national exposure? Foot fetishist Tanner tells Jillian someone even has a girlfriend back home, so she confronts the guys. No one admits it, and instead prefer to know who the snitch is. Careful Tanner, snitches get stitches! At the rose ceremony, Tanner is safe (and remains the secret snitch) which surprised me. Crazy Dave and Juan get deported back to the USA. Next week: is Wes finally going to get caught? (Image from ABC.com)

So You Think You Can Dance - So much talent packed into 2 hours! For a first week, the dancing is extremely impressive and the choreographers also brought their a-game. Mary screamed and woo'ed her heart out, even giving out her first ticket on the hot tamale train. Director/choreographer Adam Shankman was maybe a little too enthusiastic, but hey, he loves the dance. Highlights of the night for me: Tyce Diorio's jazz (Randi/Broadway Evan), a contemporary piece (Ade/old Melissa) by Mandy Moore (not that one), a beautiful foxtrot (Brandon/Janette), a crazy Wade Robson creation (Kupono/Ashley), and one sexy samba (Kayla/Max). See- the top 20 are so good, it's hard to even narrow it down to one or two favorites! I wanted to love the Bollywood number (Jason/Caitlin) but I thought they were out of sync a bit, and while the judges loved the cha-cha (Karla/Jonathan the David Archulleta lookalike), I found Karla stiff and had poor footwork. My bottom 3 picks/prediction: the Broadway number (Asuka/Vitolio), the cha-cha (Karla/Jonathan aka "Archuletta"), and a 2nd hip-hop routine (Tony/Paris).

What I like most about SYTYCD in the early rounds is that voters pick the bottom 3 couples, but then they perform for their lives in their own style, and the judges select who should go home. I think it keeps it fair from simply eliminating the less popular dancers and helps to keep true talent around. And it turns out- I guessed the bottom 3 couples right! Each dancer then dances for their life and I'm not impressed with any of them. At least "Archuletta" pulled out the tricks. Paris is the eliminated female, and I'm not surprised and thought she'd be in the bottom often because I don't think the audience clicks with her and would be a rehash of universally hated Jessica from last season. For the guys, they eliminate Tony (Paris' partner), which must be breaking the hearts of tween girls watching. Oh, and Sean Kingston performed but didn't have his amazing Crayola Crayon chain. (Original images from BuddyTV)

New! Top Chef Masters - Bad news: no Tom or Padma. But I still really enjoyed the show (especially the unique challenges), though the host for Masters is like a young, less robotic Julie Chen. How the show works: 4 chefs compete each week to win a slot in the Masters finale; 6 compete for the title and $100k for charity. Quickfire challenge: the chefs take on the dreaded dessert, but the judges are Junior Girl Scouts. The chefs get to watch the tasting (scored on a scale of 5 stars), and one little ginger girl is an evil food critic in the making. Hubert Kelly, who runs Fleur de Lys at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, wins with some cookies and and fruit. The elimination challenge brings them back to the college days, where they will prepare a meal using only a microwave, toaster oven, and hot plate- oh and they'll have to prepare the meal in a dorm room! Hubert even takes advantage of the delightful dorm shower to rinse his macaroni- eww, hope you wore flip flops. Texas chef Tim Love is a dingus and accidentally put all his food (including veggies) in a freezer the night before, so I'm sure he's grateful for the microwave defroster. Best dishes: mac and cheese with prawns, pozole, and an almost-done risotto. After the critics (not judges) add up the scoring stars just like Star Search, Hubert Kelly easily wins his spot in the next round. (Image from BravoTV.com)

The Fashion Show
- Cliques are the theme of the week, and while different cliques were drawn, all these contestants are Mean Girls (except Angel and James, they are space cadets). Daniella wins immunity by designing a cool t-shirt to win the high school election votes of the Tree Huggers. For the runway challenge, each designer gets 11 hours to design an outfit for a 20-something who used to be in that clique in high school. Reco's drama is too literal, Haven actually rocks with skater, Johnny gets jock and just doesn't care, and Angel has no idea what a B-girl is. Insane Merlin gets best design of the week for his Mean Girl ensemble, which I actually hated. It looked like a cheap sweater from the Rave or the Macy's Juniors Department. The bottom 2 are Angel and Johnny. Angel tries to defend herself saying she has never seen a B-girl and knows nothing about hip-hop culture. Culturally ignorant much? Plus, she lives in NYC so it's hard to believe she's never seen hip-hop style; her outfit is a complete stereotypical joke and it offends Kelly Rowland (view the looks here). Johnny's is sucky and boring and he wants to go home, which infuriates Reco. But desire only counts for so much, and Angel's horrible puffy vest and corn-rowed model is eliminated. Reality Rundown: Fun-ness of my Eyes

In this Reality Rundown...
The Bachelorette • So You Think You Can Dance •
Make Me A Supermodel • The Fashion Show

The Bachelorette - 3 dates again this week, with 1 group date and 2 solo dates- and host Chris Harrison reminds the solo date guys that if they don't get a rose on that date, they go home. Jillian is kind of a softie though and no guys expect that to happen- foreshadowing! Date #1 is with Ed! In case you forgot, he is my pick to go far (and my wonderful former roommate Casey's- Hi Casey!) They go repelling off some huge LA skyscraper and make out a lot, and yes he gets a rose. Date #2 is with 11 dudes, and I think Jillian kissed like 7 of them, but alas, they were "screen kisses" since they film a Western with such awkward dialogue that it bordered on porn (plus it included a Brokeback scene for 2 suitors). Young, cute bartender Robbie gets the rose because when Jillian kissed him it was for realsies. Date #3 is with Sasha and they go to a car museum and drive a Ferrari, but since Sasha wants someone too perfect he is denied a rose- SERVED! Back at the house, motives are questioned, especially with Wes and his stupid 1 song, but Jillian is still falling for it- oh-vey. My favorite psycho, David, did not get a date, so he uses this time to bash Juan and probably get wasted on scotch and soda. He is Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde and I love it. So lots of house drama, Jillian made out with a bunch of dudes, and in the end got rid of 2 nerdish dudes whose names I don't know- oh and one that screen kissed Jillian and was dubbed by foot fetish guy, "the most awkward kiss I've seen since 1988." Next week: crazy David just might get SERVED! (Original image from ABC.com)

So You Think You Can Dance - Vegas baby, Vegas! All the talented dancers come to out the Planet Hollywood (a casino I have given much money to via the roulette tables) to prove they have what it takes to make the Top 20 (10 guys, 10 girls). Dancers will do choreography in several styles and are cut if they just making the grade. Gabby, who put on an amazing solo in the auditions, tanks at choreography in both hip-hop and contemporary (her own style); the judges let her "dance for her life" (a solo that proves you have what it takes) and she lives another day, but is luckily cut in the end. Sorry, but if you can't pick up choreography, especially in your own style, then you have to get cut. Natalie, a ginger that was a sho-in for the Top 20, is cut after a bad jazz number and it makes everyone uneasy. Brandon, who has tried out I think 4 times (and Casey's favorite- hi again!) isn't wowing the judges, but he is able to last and vie for a spot in the final round. Night 1 ends up the remaining 40 performing their last solo and now the judges will decide who they think can dance. (Image from BuddyTV)

On night 2 the Top 20 are announced, and I'm really pleased with the picks. We have some great ballroom women, strong contemporary dancers (including Brandon), one of the throwback to Gene Kelly brothers, hip hop dancers and popper Phillip Chbeeb. My only disappointment was this amazing Asian ballet dancer, who is apparently under contract with the Miami Ballet, was unable to get out of his contract and therefore can't be part of the 20. Fingers crossed he is out by the fall season. Can't wait for next week when the real dancing begins!

Make Me A Supermodel - Finale finally! First off, a photoshoot using this Kodak camera where only 5 exist and they'll take 3 photos- a closeup, a full body, and a group shot. After this, the dudes head to Cosmo to take photos. Branden does best, while Jonathan is losing his sizzle. The guys say it's a close race, well, not Sandhurst; he thinks he has it in the bag. The final catwalk has the guys wearing these goofy outfits, god knows what they are, and then sleek suits by Ben Sherman. Jonathan has a flawless catwalk, Branden brought it, and Sandhurst was good in the 1st walk. Sullivan family "Who will win poll?": Dad- Sandhurst, Me/Mom- Branden (underdog takes it all). Plus, girl's model mentor Nikki says she'd give Branden her number for a date if he won, so c'mon, hook a kid up. Jonathan is first cut, and it's a Sandhurst/Branden battle and I wonder who will be victorious in the Sullivan poll. Tyson holds the last contestant's portfolio and says... "Branden, we can make you a supermodel." Hooray! This kid has really improved and I think could be huge. Plus, they all get work after this. And besides, Jonathan won the fan favorite $10k and has a (2)exist campaign. (Image from BuddyTV)

The Fashion Show - The Harper's Bazaar mini challenge is to sketch host Kelly Rowland's dress from memory, which Daniella wins and gets a huge prize: she gets to put someone in the bottom for elimination this week. The challenge is to design for, gasp!, normal sized women. The designers all panic at the thought of dressing the commonfolk, except for hilarious Reco and boring Keith. Keith makes what ends up being a 14 year old girl's first prom dress, Reco makes a stylish ensemble, Daniella has a hard client but makes her look so good, and Merlin is of course a hot mess. Daniella wins again, getting best design of the week (I was pulling for Reco's look), and she puts Angel in the bottom 2 for a sloppy, unflattering dress. I am sooo hoping Merlin goes because the design was hideous and didn't help flatter his model's figure (and he's extremely annoying), but it's Keith and his poorly fitted, unflattering dress that are put on a hanger and sent out the door. Reality Rundown: The return of SEX!

In this Reality Rundown...

The Bachelorette - Jillian will go on 3 dates this week, 2 group and 1 solo, and give a rose out on each date and those 3 dudes will move into the mansion with her until next elimination. Oh and a few guys won't get a date at all, which kinda blows and seems unfair. Date 1 starts as a pool party and ends up a Mini Cooper infested scavenger hunt, ending in a date for one of them. Jillian picks Wes and gives him a rose and I hate this guy. He is obviously there to be discovered for his [crappy] music and not for love, but she falls for his skeezy ways. Jillian takes pilot Jake (who I liked last week) on the solo date, where he quickly swoops in for the kiss, and then Martina McBride performs and he gets a rose. Date 3 is an innocent game of pickup basketball- against the Harlem Globetrotters! Some guy gets a rose because after the game he ran into the ocean in a Speedo. I've decided my favorite suitor is Dave, who always seem one notch away from some sort of violence. Suitor Juan pretended to take a shot of whiskey, and this fakeness sent Dave into a fit of rage! At elimination, guys without dates try to make an impression, Wes makes a douche move and cuts in guys, some dude exposes himself, and the men fail to get Juan sent home. And Jillian sends home a bunch of dudes I don't know (and the streaker). All and all a good episode, but I worry Wes and Juan will be torturing me on this show a long time. (Image from ABC.com)

So You Think You Can Dance - 2 nights of SYTCD this week. Night 1 auditions are in Miami and Memphis. The guest judges this week are Broadway/Jazz/Contemporary choreographer Tyce Diorio (who is so over the dud dancers) and Lil C, a choreography famous for his amazing krumping (rent Rize- it's spectacular). Some great dancers on Wednesday include a few tappers, a traditional African dancer, talented twins, returning semi-finalists from last year, and an underground style called Memphis Jukin. But a few duds manage to get into the mix including terrible twins and a ginger with long dreads essentially rave dancing. The dancers heading to Vegas are a great bunch, and I think this could be one of the toughest Top 20 decisions yet. (Image from Reality Wanted)

Night 2, or as teased in Wednesday's preview, the return of SEX! But not until the end. The cities of night 2 are Los Angeles and Seattle, with Hairspray director/choreographer Adam Shankman and the SYTYCD choreography messiah Mia Michaels
as the 3rd chairs. Los Angeles has some amazing talent, which makes sense since people who move to LA are trying to pursue a career in dance. Seattle however stinks. Only 12 people from Seattle advanced, and none got an automatic ticket to Vegas. Now onto the greatest part ever: SEX. First, this guy who calls himself "Wise Leo" dances and it's this weird hopping/clubbing thing; Mia says she'd love to see a dance off between Leo and Sex. And it's as amazing as you'd think- and the winner is LEO. Poor Sex- and for once, Nigel voted for him. And after 5 years of trying out, Nigel agrees to let Sex participate in the choreography round to give him a reality check. Sex stinks, but of course, he'll be back next year.

Make Me A Supermodel - Final 4 and it's only taken what, 8 years to get here? The photoshoot is for the models to pose with a huge pyrotechnic background, but they only get one shot to do it. Jonathan plays in safe, Brendan ignores direction, Mountaha stands still, and Sandhurst goes crazy. In other fun, they get a shopping spree at Bloomingdales and get to visit New York Model Management, their possible future employer. The catwalk challenge will have the guys as 007 spies while the remaining woman will be- well I don't really know, but she is a wearing a dress by judge Catherine Malandrino. Jonathan really channels James Craig, Sandhurst is average and the photo saves him, Brendan has a much improved walk but a bad pictures, and Mountaha is stiff and Catherine doesn't like the way her dress looked- ouch, served! The bottom 2 fighting for the last spot in the finals are Mountaha and Brendan and as much as I love little Brendan (the last American too), I think his time might be up. But no! Mountaha is handed her book and sent home and she's pretty shocked. I'm shocked too, but hey, after this you'll all be working models, you just won't have the $100k prize. Next week: FINALLY, I mean finale. (Image from BuddyTV)

The Fashion Show - Teams are out, individuals in, so now the show might me slightly more like Project Runway as they don't have to make a cohesive line. Their first challenge as individuals: design an outfit inspired by a pair of shoes. Luckily, they are selecting shoes at Bergdorf's so there are no frightening Crocs to choose. The underwear designer guy again seems to be stealing ideas from other designers, Reco is overconfident (but I love him!), and a girl who got assigned a pair of shoes rocks it. The top 3 made some amazing outfits, but it's Rico and his take on a little black dress that wins. The bottom 2 are underwear guy and this other woman who made the bridesmaid dress from hell. It comes down to choosing between creative but poorly executed or boring but completed. Thankfully, the creative wins and underwear man can go back to thongs and briefs and stop being a copycat. Reality Rundown: I Don't Need my Coat to be a Refridgerator

In this Reality Rundown...
American Idol • Make Me A Supermodel •
New! So You Think You Can Dance • The Fashion Show

American Idol - Finale! Kris and Adam will perform 3 songs: favorite of the season, a song picked by producer Simon Fuller, and the winner's 1st single which was co-written by judge Kara (and 90's pop sensation Cathy Dennis!!) For Round 1, Kris did best with "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay." Round 2 goes to Adam who got assigned some Same Cooke song. Round 3... sucked. The single is so corny, so cheesy. Past seasons have been far worse, but this song is capital L-A-M-E. And since it seems they weren't allowed to play around with the arrangement, this is definitely not an Adam song, while Kris did OK. This would've been a good Gokey song- horribly lame and wannabe inspirational. It's hard to predict who will win, but I think the wholesome cuteness of Kris Allen will gain him the former Gokey voters for the win. I don't have a preference who wins as I would listen to both. Kris is someone whose CD I could listen to relaxing or commuting, but I'd play Adam Lambert in my car to scream along with. (Image from FoxNews.com)

On the results show, lots of musicians perform with the contestants (Cyndi Lauper and Allison, Hokey Gokey and Lionel Richie, etc.), Bikini Girl returns with new boobies and gets SERVED by a singing judge Kara in her bikini, Kris Allen sings with Keith Urban, Adam Lambert rocks out with KISS (Gene Simmons has even offered Adam a spot on the KISS tour). The best part is the performance of "We Are the Champions" by both Kris and Adam AND Queen- awesome. Onto the winner. The new American Idol is.. Kris Allen! And the reveal isn't that exciting, but I did call it. Afterwards I wondered if I would have been more excited if Adam won, but I think I'm leaning more towards the fact I was totally indifferent to the season/winner. Who's not indifferent? Simon- he thinks the wrong person won. In the end, as long as it wasn't Danny Gokey I'm satisfied. (Image from MTV.com)

Make Me a Supermodel - Photoshoot: look hot in bathing suits in the freezing weather, while holding dead fish. Sexy! Salome wins best photo again, even with a bad swimsuit body, which drives everyone mental. On the catwalk, the models will wear 2 looks by designers, The Blonds, which will be a Glam & Goth look. Yes, the guys get to wear corsets! And blond wigs! Mountaha is fantastic, Branden improves quite a bit, but Jonathan wins best of the week. Not having a good week: Sandhurst. Bad runway, awful photo- things are looking bleak. But the judges are over Salome's bad body and poor catwalk performances and she's sent back to the Menonite ways. (Original image from BuddyTV)

New! So You Think You Can Dance - My favorite show returns! I am a huge SYTYCD fan, so I have been waiting for this summer series for quite a long time. It's hard to recap auditions, but I'll try to give some scoop. The first auditions are in New York City, with judges Nigel, Mary Murphy, and choreographers Napoleon and Tabatha (aka NapTab), where we see amazing contemporary, outstanding ballroom, a new dancing style called Mutation, and hardly any losers, which is why I love this show. Unlike Idol which loves to showcase morons, SYTYCD is about talent! The second half of auditions this week are in Denver, with new choreographer Sonja replacing NapTab as the judge. Sonja is just blown away with the auditions and you can see the wheels spinning of what she could do with these dancers (they are not blown away by 2 guys who dance ballroom together). 2 dancers who made it to the final audition rounds in Vegas last year return and are 2 of the most exquisite dancers. If they don't make it this year, it would be shocking. Like I said, it's hard to cover, but you've got to watch this amazing show. Even my grandparents watch it weekly! (Image from BuddyTV)

The Fashion Show - So apparently a lot of designers on this show can't sew, which is again baffling then how they made it in fashion. I didn't go to design school, but wouldn't you have to assemble your own clothing for classes, etc? This week the teams will make 4 coats, one for each season, but the coats also need to do something extra. Something extra seems to mostly translate into storage, but there are some real standouts. One winter coat transforms into a sleeping bag, while another winter ensemble has a pull out blanket on the back (Snuggie-esque) and can hold a warm canteen. The underwear designer sort of stinks with ideas, so young Daniella gives him a bunch of suggestions and gets rightfully pissed when he wins best design. Clunkers of the week: one oddly shaped coat that is supposed to hold your hairspray and mirror and a coat that is poorly constructed, but has a cool neckpiece to carry your jewelry. Markus, who can't seem to sew for the life of him despite his amazing creativity, is given the boot. This is a message to any young kid who dreams of being on a fashion reality show: LEARN TO SEW FIRST. (Image from Reality Wanted)
